SMTPeter is a cloud-based SMTP service that handles transactional email delivery through infrastructure hosted in the Netherlands. It's designed for developers and businesses that need reliable email sending without managing their own mail servers.

You can send emails through either REST API or SMTP protocol. SMTPeter processes your messages on Dutch servers before delivering them to recipients' inboxes. The service handles authentication protocols like DKIM, SPF, and DMARC automatically.

Key email processing features include:

• Link tracking - Replaces hyperlinks to monitor clicks through SMTPeter's servers • DKIM signing - Adds digital signatures to verify message legitimacy
• CSS inlining - Converts stylesheets to inline styles for better email client compatibility • Image hosting - Strips embedded images and hosts them externally to reduce message size • Bounce handling - Intercepts bounces and out-of-office replies through envelope modification • Email throttling - Prevents flooding recipient servers with too many messages

The platform includes a template store with both drag-and-drop and HTML editors for creating responsive email templates. Templates are stored as JSON objects accessible via dashboard or API. All sent emails are automatically archived and accessible through the dashboard.

SMTPeter provides detailed analytics and monitoring through feedback loops that track opens, clicks, and bounces. The REST API lets you download log files, access statistics, and retrieve archived messages.

Pricing starts at €55 monthly for up to 25,000 emails from one IP address and domain. Additional emails cost €0.05-€0.23 per thousand depending on volume. The service is built by Copernica, an Amsterdam-based marketing software company.
